As a youngster living near Ladbroke Grove I also experienced badly set blinds with 100 often shown on the side blind and canopy blind.
It is also noteworthy that journeys also ran between EAST HAM White Horse and Beckton if the1966 fare chart is to be believed

As from Monday 11th November 1963, the right turn from Gascoigne Road, Barking into Barking-by-pass was banned for road safety reasons causing southbound Route 100 buses to be rerouted from a new stand in London Road (previously St Paul's Road) to work via Ripple Road, Movers Lane, Barking by pass to Jenkins Lane. The Barking bound service was unaffected and continued to use Gascoigne Road.

At about the same time, the pedestrian crossing was abolished and a metal footbridge was erected just east of the By Pass/ Gascoigne Road junction. I spent many a day during half term holidays between 1962 and 1969 at my Dad's workplace in his office overlooking this junction observing the considerable movement of buses and users from the Lyons Maid/Epicure pickles and William Warne rubber factories particularly during the lunch time rush when employees would use the 100 (and sometimes the 106) to pop into Barking Town Centre to do shopping. Both the 106 and 175 were extremely unreliable and I can well remember fights to get on loaded 175 buses coming from Canning Town after 1600 hours already packed with dockers heading in the Dagenham direction.

When I was working in 55 Broadway HQ as an LT traffic trainee in about 1980 I came across a redeployed Upton Park clippie who described a considerable amount of fare evasion going up Jenkins Lane where Gas workers would leap off moving buses reaching the A13, made worse by the conversion of the route to RM from RT in 1964 when vehicle capacities increased and she was thrown from side to side in pothole ridden Jenkins Lane. RT buses continued to be used on the 100 despite formal conversion to RM in 1964. This was prevalent during the 1600 hours convoy to pick up the end of shift at this time.

I never once witnessed a 100 properly dressed with the correct blind display Common showings were 15 Ladbroke Grove, 147 Ilford, Wanstead Lane, 101 Manor Park. The area around the Gas Works incuding Gascoigne Road was very often covered in a thick smog after about 1500 hours during the winter months. The latter fact backed up by retired members of Lyons Maid and Victor Blagden factories.

You go now to this junction and there is nobody just a fast moving arterial road, redundant buildings and a crude metal crash barrier. Things used to be made by people in Barking and Beckton but alas no more. I hope I have evoked some memories and it would be nice to hear your recollections as well"

It is most likely that duties started with the 100 and finished with the 15. This was LT policy in order that a reliable service could be given rather than be disrupted by traffic delays on the 15
