Operating Garages

GD Godstone
Crew changeover point New Addington

An oddity on the 464 was that although the route was allocated to GD,
drivers from MB covered meal reliefs (driving the GD vehicles) by taking
each GD bus for one round trip. As an example, a Saturday late turn which I
covered on occasions spent its first half on the T33, the second half was
one round trip on the 464 driving GD26, then wait at New Addington for half
an hour before taking GD27 for a round trip. On Sundays it was similar, but
the MB duty did its first half on the 64.

Although the official allocation was from GD, in practice, MB and GD did
occasionally cover for each other so there were odd occasions when an MB bus
and driver were operating a 464 duty in place of GD; GD drivers and buses
occasionally covered MB duties on the 320. On the one occasion I covered
the Sunday duty, I ended up driving a Metrorider (from MB) in place of the
GD Mini Pointer Dart one one trip to Tatsfield.
